Welcome to the next generation of faith!
At Bates Memorial United Methodist Church, we believe children and youth are vital members of our church family. We are proud to offer one of Snow Hill’s two active children’s ministries — a joyful, safe, and nurturing space where kids can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, build lasting friendships, and discover God’s love in fun, engaging ways.
Our Vision
We partner with families to raise up young disciples who know they are deeply loved by God. Through age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship, activities, and service, we help children and youth develop a personal faith that lasts a lifetime. As United Methodists, we emphasize grace, community, and putting faith into action.
What We Offer
- Sunday Morning Opportunities — Children are welcome in worship with their families. Age-appropriate activities and lessons support what they experience in the service.
- Children’s Church — Led by Andrea Irving, our children’s church program provide engaging Bible stories, crafts, music, and fellowship tailored for younger kids.
- Acolyte Ministry — Led by James Smith, this program trains and equips youth to serve meaningfully in worship, helping them grow in leadership and faith.
- Youth Missions & Camps — We invest in our young people through life-changing experiences like our annual trip to Appalacia Service Project and other mission opportunities.
- Special Events — Vacation Bible School (VBS), seasonal gatherings, family-friendly nights, and more — all designed to build community and faith.
Our programs are staffed by caring volunteers who are passionate about walking alongside our kids and families.
Who Is It For?
- Nursery / Preschool (as needed)
- Elementary-age children
- Youth (middle and high school)
All are welcome — no matter where you are on your faith journey.
