Our Connection and Calling
Bates Memorial United Methodist Church in Snow Hill and Trinity United Methodist Church in Newark form one parish family, united in ministry and mission. Together, we share one heart for serving God and our neighbors across Worcester County.
Rooted in the rich traditions of the United Methodist Church, both congregations seek to create spaces where people can worship authentically, grow spiritually, and serve joyfully. Whether gathered in our sanctuaries or out in the community, we strive to be the hands and feet of Christ to all.
Our Mission
The mission of The United Methodist Church is simple yet profound:
To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Everything we do—from Sunday worship to food drives and community partnerships—flows from this mission. We believe that lives are changed when people encounter the love of Christ, and that changed lives can, in turn, change the world.
Our Vision
We embrace the denomination’s new vision, which reflects our shared hope for what God is doing through the Church today and tomorrow:

At Bates and Trinity, this vision guides us as we:

Our Life Together
Our worship is traditional and deeply rooted in Scripture, music, and the sacraments that have shaped generations of believers. Yet our hearts are turned outward—to our neighbors, our schools, and our town. Whether collecting food, sponsoring local events, or hosting community gatherings, we seek to be a light in Snow Hill, Newark, and beyond.
We are more than two congregations sharing one pastor—we are one body, one mission, and one witness of God’s love.
